Superb quality example of a Lady’s or Gentleman’s Polished Brass, Tortoiseshell and Mahogany carcass Inlaid Boulle Style Jewelllery or Trinket Casket or Table Box made during the last quarter of the Nineteenth Century, of English origin.
Made in England by world famous Jewlery and Leather goods manufacturers J.C. Vickery, Regent Street, London, since 1891.
The entire areas decorated with premier and contra-partie inlaid scrolling arabesques depicting intricacy, opulence and masterful craftsmanship, opening to reveal a bottle green leather lined interior, complete with original hinged and lock mechanism, lacking key. Central cartouche of lid is vacant.
Condition: Good condition with nice patination, no losses or lifting to metal or tortoiseshell. There are a few tiny bumps and age spots to inlay, no losses anywhere.
